I have never had ants inside my house. This year I have seen several large-bodied ants in my kitchen, should I worry about more?
There are many species of ants. Large bodied ants could be carpenter ants that thrive commonly in moist, dead wood. Check around the perimeter of your home and check out any areas that rain and moisture may be decaying any wooden part of your home. Also eliminate any food sources for ants. Ants will keep coming back to areas where food can be found. Baits work well. Ants will take bait back to the nest where it will kill more ants. Also spray the outside perimeter of your home with Ortho Max Lawn & Garden Insect Killer or something similar to prevent more ants from coming into your home from outside.
