One of the joys of working at Garden Time is bearing witness to the amazing process of watching the greenhouses transform from empty cold spaces to full verdant collections of plant life. And when I say full, I mean no spare inch goes unused! Seedlings and eensy beansy plant starts seem to burst to life and suddenly what once took up a tray or two of space, now occupy entire benches as it fights for space and sunshine. While spring has felt like a bit of a false start this season, a trip through the greenhouse never ceases to ensure me that warmer days are in fact ahead. Between the aroma of the soil, the sensation of warmth, the brightness of the air, the beautiful colors and frankly the smell that I can only categorize as “green”, I realize how lucky I am to be able to wander through these bustling houses of life.
