Heavy Equipment Operator

Full-time
Wilton, NY

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the successful planning, management, and completion of shed, garage, and home construction projects. This role involves running heavy equipment, ensuring that projects meet the required quality standards, timelines, and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of construction processes.

$30-35/hour

Monday-Friday

Heavy Equipment Operation:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, graders, loaders.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment before and after use.
  • Load and unload equipment from trailers and transport vehicles.
  • Follow site plans, blueprints, and instructions from supervisors.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed on-site at all times.
    Identify and report equipment malfunctions or issues to maintenance staff.
  • Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, and other crew members.
  • Monitor and control equipment to ensure efficient operation and productivity.
  • Perform basic manual labor when required to support the crew.


Project Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
  • Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.


Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure efficient communication among all project stakeholders.
  • Resolve any team conflicts and promote a collaborative work environment.


Budget & Resource Management:

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects stay within financial constraints.
  • Order materials and manage inventory to avoid delays.
  • Track and approve project expenses, ensuring accurate cost reporting.


Quality Control & Safety:

  • Monitor work to ensure it meets quality standards, specifications, and client expectations.
  • Ensure that all work is done in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and address issues promptly.


Client Liaison:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and address any client concerns.
  • Ensure client satisfaction with the final product and handle any post-project issues.


Problem Solving & Risk Management:

  • Anticipate potential project issues and take proactive steps to mitigate risks.
  • Troubleshoot any problems that arise during construction and work with the team to resolve them quickly.


Project Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, progress, and changes.
  • Prepare and submit regular status reports to senior management.
  • Ensure all project documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Construction Safety, etc.) are a plus.


Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience managing construction projects, preferably in shed/garage or residential building.
  • Proven experience in managing budgets, timelines, and resources.
    Familiarity with local building codes, zoning laws, and permitting processes.


Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • CDL License and heavy equipment experience.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment and visit construction sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Laborer/Carpenter

We are seeking a hardworking, reliable Laborer / Carpenter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will assist in all phases of shed and garage construction — from site preparation and framing to finishing and installation. Experience with carpentry, construction tools, and outdoor work is a plus, but we’re also willing to train motivated individuals with a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with construction and installation of sheds, garages, and other outbuildings.
  • Perform basic carpentry tasks such as measuring, cutting, framing, and assembling materials.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, and organize building materials and tools on-site.
  • Prepare job sites, including leveling ground and setting foundations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Follow directions from crew leaders and ensure work meets company quality standards.
  • Travel to various job sites as required (company vehicle or carpool may be provided).

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in carpentry, framing, roofing or general construction preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power equipment (training provided if needed).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Shed Delivery Driver (Class A CDL)

Full-Time

The Shed and Outdoor Structures Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of sheds, garages, and other outdoor structures to customer locations. This position requires operating large delivery vehicles, coordinating with the installation team, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction during the delivery process.

$24-28/hour

Monday-Friday

Delivery & Transportation:

  • Safely drive and operate company vehicles to deliver sheds, garages, and outdoor structures to customers’ locations.
  • Ensure that all deliveries are completed on schedule, within safe driving regulations, and according to route plans.
  • Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care to prevent damage.


Customer Service:

  • Communicate professionally with customers at delivery sites, providing friendly and courteous service.
  • Confirm delivery details with customers, ensuring they are satisfied with the delivery and positioning of the product.
  • Address any concerns or issues during the delivery process, escalating them to management when necessary.


Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:

  • Maintain cleanliness and good working condition of the delivery vehicle.
  • Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition, reporting any issues to management promptly.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company procedures during deliveries to ensure the safety of yourself and others.


Coordination with Installation Teams:

  • Work closely with the installation team to ensure timely and accurate delivery and set-up of products.
  • Ensure that products are delivered to the correct site locations and are positioned according to the customer’s preferences and company guidelines.


Documentation & Reporting:

  • Complete delivery paperwork, including invoices, delivery confirmations, and damage reports, as required.
  • Document any product damages, delivery issues, or customer complaints and report them to management.
  • Track and report on delivery performance and vehicle maintenance needs.


General Support:

  • Assist with warehouse or yard duties when not on the road, including loading products and organizing inventory.
  • Help prepare products for delivery, ensuring they are packed securely and ready for transport.

Experience:

  • Proven experience driving large vehicles, such as box trucks, flatbeds, or delivery trucks.
  • Experience in the delivery or logistics field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with heavy machinery, such as forklifts, is a plus.


Skills:

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with clients.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, and deliver heavy items, often requiring manual handling.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic vehicle issues and handle minor repairs when needed.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina for manual labor involved in loading and unloading.


Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL A) or regular driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to large vehicle operation.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50-100 lbs.) and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods, including long-haul routes, if necessary.
  • Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
